We present this information not to harm but to educate the public on patterns of deceit and other issues. The citizens of Yeadon deserve better. We have made every attempt to be factual here. If you feel we have erred with the facts, please do not hesitate to email, yeadonboroughblog@gmail.com.
What is “The Sharon Shuffle”? Remember the past president who served after Obama and before Biden who consistently used tactics of chaos and confusion to promote their own sordid agenda. Well the same is happening right here in Yeadon. Sharon Cofey Simmons Oglesby Council-Harris has been in and out of Yeadon Borough Council for several decades, often leaving the position in disgrace. In her previous term, she received a scathing letter regarding submission of a plagiarized application to open a charter school, then resigned her Council seat, rescinded the resignation, ultimately to resign again. It can be concluded that she only has an interest in serving the borough if she has autonomy and can have her hands directly in the Borough’s bank account. When she realized she would be unable to profit from opening a bogus school, she abandoned Yeadon. Council-Harris’ blatant disregard of the rules does not just stop with the school district and Borough, she also disregarded the rules of The Yeadon Democratic Committee. She was banned from the organization with several colleagues including Learin Johnson and Tomeka “Taliah” Jones-Waters. Yeadon now needs to figure out her next intentions for the Borough before it’s too late. With such an unstable financial history having filed for bankruptcy at least 4 times, coupled with the willingness to plagiarize and present “outright falsehoods” on an application, Yeadon needs to be watchful of who is responsible for the fiscal health of the Borough.
Since being sworn in as President on January 3, 2022, Council-Harris has already committed egregious acts against the people of Yeadon using some very familiar and new, more abhorrent tactics. After voting to have hybrid meetings so the public could attend on Zoom, she refused to follow through on the vote as she preferred to carry out her questionable, often unlawful actions without witnesses. There were previously up to 90 residents who participated in Zoom. She authorized hiring 5 people to the Borough without providing any salary, resume, or contracts for the public or other Councilors to review. The Borough Manager, Isaac Dotson, a personal friend with no municipal experience, was eventually found to have a salary of $95,000 annually. Council-Harris also eliminated public comment during the last public meeting on January 20, 2022, a direct violation of the Sunshine Act. Council-Harris even kicked the Mayor of Yeadon out of a meeting for absolutely no reason. The Mayor has the right and responsibility to keep abreast of Council matters as he is responsible for breaking a tie on Council. She attempted to weaponize the Police Department when she demanded that the Chief and one of his colleagues remove the personal computer of another Councilor who created their own Zoom for the public. The law states it is permissible to record a public meeting. The Chief refused to act illegally on her behalf.
When Council-Harris realized her faction was losing the ability to act in secrecy, she empowered her 12 children to do her bidding on her behalf. Her eldest son, Jonathan Wilson, Jr., called in a threat to the Borough stating he and his 11 siblings would come to the Council Meeting to “kick butt” if they had to. Although a resident of another state, he posted the same threat on a Yeadon community website. Her remaining children joined the site also posing as Yeadon residents to add to the intimidation factor. After discovering Wilson, Jr. had admittedly engaged in prior criminal activity and may carry out these threats, the information was turned over to the Delaware County District Attorney’s office. No elected official should live in fear of violent retribution for doing the job the people elected them to do.
Council Harris has now placed our Chief in her crosshairs. She and her cronies have started a campaign to get rid of him under the guise that the Borough needs a black police chief. Not only is this an illegal action, it is an extremely poor representation of Yeadon Borough. Unfortunately, the law does not prevent illegal actions, it only responds to them. The people of Yeadon can stand up for our chief and demand better. Please be inspired to action and stop The Sharon Shuffle!
SKSS CHARTER SCHOOL FILING states "more troubling, however is that in multiple instances that were actual factual representations to this Board that were in the copied material that were totally either in applicable to the the application or, worse yet, outright falsehoods in the context of this application"

Learin “Drill Team” Johnson promised to serve us with integrity. When previously on Borough Council, Johnson frequently redirected taxpayer money to her Drill Team. When several councilors called her out on her unethical choices, she went further into corruption and began to redirect money from the Yeadon Economic Development Corporation (YEDC) to the Drill Team as a pass through. It is no surprise that Isaac Dotson, now the unqualified Yeadon Borough Manager, was the Chairman of the Board. The YEDC received money directly from the Borough, yet voted to “donate” money to Learin Johnson’s Drill Team. Ms. Johnson continued to deny having any affiliation with the Drill Team until photos surfaced proving otherwise. She claimed the printer made a mistake when creating the team's banners with her name front and center. Well, that mistake was made several times. As you can see, there were multiple banners created. The banners were also paid for with taxpayer dollars.
Former Borough Manager, Larry Healy, named Johnson in lawsuit against Yeadon Borough as a person who withdrew their support of him ultimately causing his termination when he refused to “do favors”. It is no surprise those favors involved Johnson demanding he use the Yeadon Borough credit card to purchase banners, uniforms and pizza for the drill team and allowing them to practice in Borough Hall. Healy, an honest whistleblower, refused. When a different borough employee and resident redirected the young drill team girls while running throughout the Borough Hall and being unruly, Johnson had her fired.
This time around, Johnson’s tactics for personal gain shifted to our beloved Chief Chachi. Johnson has told anyone who would listen that she believes Yeadon needs a black police chief. Several former councilors and a retired police chief who served on the interview committee to select Yeadon’s police new chief in 2018 corroborated these occurrences during the interview process. Sharon Council-Harris, now Council President, also served on this committee. After being reminded that race has no place in the interview, Johnson continued to comment that one of the candidates was a “handsome black man” who she would love to have in Yeadon. The candidate was IN THE ROOM when she made the comment.
It came as no surprise on the morning of Johnsons inauguration, she called the Borough and offered a police staff member the Chief’s job for a second time. Given his level of integrity, he immediately reported this to his superiors. As a result, every member of the Yeadon Police Department showed up to the swearing in ceremony in full uniform to support their Chief. Chief Chachi is not only loved by his reporting officers, he is loved by this whole community!
Johnson continues to slip through the cracks of the Ethics Act; it was determined that she she did not have a “personal financial gain” from these deplorable acts. While the state may not find fault in her actions, WE THE PEOPLE OF YEADON can see the wrong and will continue to speak out for accountability with our tax dollars and respect for the men and women of the Yeadon Police Department who protect and serve our community every day.
Image of Dance Banner 1 and 2, clearly showing Johnson's sponsorship of team, although sponsorship was provided by Borough.
Complacency is Complicit It has been recently revealed that Carlette Brooks, owner of Carlette’s Hideaway Bar, and her family requested the Chief “ease up” on ticketing patrons of their bar Carlette’s Hideaway and not respond to resident calls to the police regarding her bar. Carlette indicated that she had agreed to pay for any tickets her patrons received and it was becoming very expensive for her. She did not seek out a solution that would be in the best interest of Yeadon residents, only a solution to help her pockets. Of course, the Chief, being the man of integrity he is, refused the request. The Yeadon Police Department does not engage in activity that counteracts safety of residents. Laws and ordinances should be applied equally – favors are not welcome here. Brooks has been relatively quiet as a new member of Council, but she had the opportunity to speak up or do that right thing. Given her prior interactions with the Chief, she should have recused herself from the vote altogether. As a resident of Yeadon, and a sworn Councilor, Brooks should have listened to the people. Her choices have the borough exposed to a HUGE lawsuit. A lawsuit that her tax dollars will also pay for. Brooks needs to be held accountable for this shameful, self-serving act against our borough.
Demand her resignation.
Tomeka “Taliah” Jones-Waters has a Food Stamp Fraud charge that was ignored after being placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) Program. To enter into the ARD Program, one must plead guilty and wave the rights to a trial. if they fail to meet the terms and conditions of the program, guilty party will be adjudicated appropriately. Jones-Waters never paid restitution or completed community service as required. The information does not appear on her criminal record because she is politically connected.
After a decades long tryst occurring over several of his marriages, Tomeka “Taliah” Jones-Waters married disgraced Pennsylvania State Representative Ronald G. Waters. He was convicted of criminal conspiracy, bribery and conflict of interest in addition to others. Waters stepped down from office, and Tomeka changed her name to “Taliah” on all official election ballots. Waters continues to serve in low-profile political roles in Philadelphia while his wife has taken the spotlight attacking our beloved Chief Chachi.
If the District Attorney would properly recognize the failure to enforce the law, she would not be eligible to serve on Yeadon Borough Council at all. Rules should be applied equitably for all members of this great nation and commonwealth. These laws were put in place to protect the public from corruption. No one should be above the law regardless of political connections. Contact the Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer at stollsteimerj@co.delaware.pa.us and demand justice.
